Location: Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh
Salary: £21,500 – £23,800 per annum
Contract: Permanent, Full-time (37.5 hours) and Part-time options available
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our Elderly Care ward at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. Working as part of our supportive multidisciplinary team, you’ll provide essential care to elderly patients, making a genuine difference to their hospital experience every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with personal care, mobility, and nutrition
- Monitor and record vital signs
- Support registered nurses with clinical procedures
- Help maintain a safe, clean environment
- Provide emotional support to patients and families
- Participate in team meetings and handovers
Requirements
- Care Certificate or willingness to work toward it
- Previous care experience (healthcare or community setting)
- Enhanced DBS/PVG clearance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate approach to patient care
- Physical capability to assist with patient moving and handling
- Flexibility to work shifts including weekends
